Endless books, articles, websites, blogs and more all seem to have just the trick to nailing that interview.  While much of this can be solid, generic advice, there’s still one bit of wisdom that is universal when it comes to acing the interview and landing the job of your dreams; you need to show your potential employer that you’re a superstar fit for the position.  This may seem easier said than done, but don’t worry.  We have a few pieces of sage advice that will have you convincing your interviewer that you’re the best fit for the job, right from the get-go.

Certifications, Tests, Screening Questions and More

Many interviews are over before they’ve even begun due to candidates performing poorly on pre-employment testing.  These simple, yet important exams can vary from broad, personality based questions to specific quizzes on the skills you’ll need to perform your job duties.  Don’t be afraid to ask the HR representative or recruiter if a qualification or personality test will be a part of the interview process.  If so, the internet is chock-full of samples that may not have your exact questions but will let you go in more confident and prepared.

Let’s face it, the job market is tougher today than ever before.  With increased competition for the best positions, it’s no wonder that the interview process has also progressed.  From more in-depth questions to longer interviews with a greater number of people, companies know they have the upper hand when it comes to a deep and diverse talent pool.
