What is Simply Hired?
SimplyHired.com is a vertical job search engine currently indexing million of job listings from company sites, job boards, newspapers, government agencies, non-profit organizations and other job sources. Simply Hired allows job seekers to search all of the jobs on the Web in one place for free.
What does Simply Hired's integration with Facebook entail?
Simply Hired is releasing the launch of the first job search experience which combines the largest social graph with the largest database of jobs. Through an extended integration with Facebook, job seekers can now utilize their Facebook profile and friends on SimplyHired.com to receive customized job search recommendations and land a job.
With this functionality, authenticated Facebook users are able to discover jobs based on their current or previous work titles, location, interests and their friends. From the search results page, job seekers are able to browse friends' companies and search for job openings. In addition, on the Where Your Friends Work page, you can find a company directory of where your friends work and fun facts about your network. This integration helps users leverage their Facebook friends to get the inside track on a job.
Users who opted into our beta release of this integration discovered twice as many job opportunities.
Why are you launching this integration?
We have been hearing from our users that they are using social sites including Facebook to find a job. In fact, according to recent SimplyHired.com polls, 65% of respondents already leverage social sites to job search. We rolled out this integration to offer a more personalized job search experience which leverages your Facebook profile and friends.

What information are we getting from Facebook?
Through the Facebook developer program, Simply Hired has been given permission to develop functionality that can enrich the job search experience utilizing Facebook profile information. Simply Hired is committed to user privacy. All user information and job search activity on SimplyHired.com will be kept private and will not be shared or appear on Facebook. We advise you to read our Privacy Policy as well as Facebook's Privacy Policy before activating our Facebook integration.
We use information such as your name, profile picture, education information, work information, fan pages, networks, current location, friends, and similar information about your friends to help create a more personalized experience on SimplyHired.com after you opt-in.
Is my information safe?
We do not share your Facebook information with anyone. Your activity and information will stay private.
Simply Hired is a job search engine and we pull millions of job listings from thousands of job sites. After you click a job on SimplyHired.com, you leave our site and are directed to another site where the job is located. We do not control how these other sites choose to use any of data that you provide them, so we recommend you review their terms and policies.

There will be no published activity that will occur on your Facebook profile, News Feed, or Stream. We will not generate any stories about your actions. We understand that job searching is a private activity and we respect your privacy.

How do I opt-in to personalization through the Facebook integration?
You can opt-in to personalization through the beta Facebook integration in a number of ways. Here's the easiest way:
Click the “Login to Facebook” activation button on the SimplyHired.com homepage and click “Allow” to grant Simply Hired access to your Facebook account.
Other ways:
- From the search results page, click the Facebook icon or “Who Do I Know” button located under the keyword box and click the “Login to Facebook” activation button to grant Simply Hired access.
- Go to your Search Settings, scroll down to the “Who Do I Know” section and click the “Login” link next to the Facebook heading
How do I know if I'm connected to Facebook?
You will see a personalized homepage at SimplyHired.com containing pictures of your friends and where they currently work.
How do I opt-out of personalization through the Facebook integration?
You can deactivate personalization through extended integration with Facebook in a number of ways. The simplest way is to click the “opt out” link on the homepage. You can also:
- Click the "close" link in the top left corner of the social job search box, located on the search results page
- Click the Facebook icon or “Who Do I Know” button located under the keyword box and click the "Logout" button in the Facebook section
- Go to your Search Settings, scroll down to the "Who Do I Know" section and click the "Logout" link next to the Facebook heading
When you opt-out, we erase all the information we've received from Facebook and you will no longer see your Facebook information on Simply Hired. Your privacy is important to us.
What is “Jobs at Your Friends' Companies”?
If you click on any of your Facebook friends' employers that appear on the homepage or their picture on the results page, you will be taken to a search for jobs at that friend's company, as listed in the Education and Work section of their Facebook profile.
What is “Where Your Friends Work”?
The Where Your Friends Work page offers a company directory of where your friends work listed by company name or friend’s name. In the Fun Facts area, you will find the most popular companies and locations in your social graph, as well as recommended searches based on your Facebook profile and jobs at companies you like, based off Facebook Pages that you like.
Why does the word “Message” appear when I mouse over a photo of my friend?
Clicking on the “Message” option that appears when you hover over a photo of your friend will open a message box so you can send a private message to that friend. We will not send any message automatically. You can edit the message to your liking to ask for more information about a job or even a referral.
