In the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal today, Gautam is listed as one of Silicon Valley’s rising stars. Despite receiving more than 150 nominations, the Business Journal narrowed down the list to 40 people who are successful professionally yet still find the time to give back to the community. This year, Gautam Godhwani, the co-founder and CEO of Simply Hired, made the cut.
Gautam is a serial entrepreneur, with Simply Hired being his third successful project. He left his first venture, AtWeb, in 2000 after the leading online services company was acquired by Netscape. Immediately after, he opened the India Community Center in Silicon Valley in 2003 which has grown to a 40,000 square foot, $17 million facility that supports community for over 150,000 people in the Bay Area with Indian heritage. The facility boasts more than 1,000 programs, including free legal and medical clinics.
And it doesn’t stop there. Four years ago, Gautam helped start a search engine aimed at created a better experience for job seekers.
