If you think back to when you were in elementary school, you probably had an assignment to write about “what you want to be when you grow up.” Some kids wanted to be doctors and others veterinarians; maybe you even knew a kid who wanted to be a ninja. If you were a big fan of the X-files (like me) you probably wanted to be an FBI agent, so you could hunt down aliens and document paranormal activity.
Granted, the kind of work Mulder and Scully did wasn’t typical FBI work, but you too can become a member of the FBI. Right now, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking to hire 850 special agents and 2,100 support personnel, based on an article by Terry Frieden of CNN.
According to the article, the FBI is always looking for individuals with knowledge of computer science or fluency in languages; however, it also looks for professionals with a desire to protect the US from “terrorists, spies and others who wish us harm.”
With openings in 56 field offices of the FBI, there may be something for you, but hurry with your job search! These job listings expire January 16.
Some dreams do come true.
