Blogs that work well aren’t just paperless publishing: they’re a relationship. A good blog creates a community of people who care enough to spend time with it, interacting, exchanging insights.
But blogs are long-distance relationships, and as anyone who’s ever tried to keep a long-distance romance afloat will tell you, they take even more effort than the face-to-face kind. Effort, determination, and perseverance.
All of these things we have in abundance around these humble hallways, as Recruiting.com noted when they nominated our blog in its blogging contest. We were flattered. We were pleased. But we were also consumed with trying to create the best job-seeker experience in existence, and – what can we say? We dropped the blogging ball.
It’s not that we stopped loving you. It wasn’t you at all – it was us.
We miss you, though. Any chance we could get together soon? You know – just to talk?
